VB3 64 Bit!

Was alerted to this at KVR. VB3 is still at 1.4, but there is a 64 bit version available for download. It seems to work great here..

    28th April apparently.
VB3 version 1.4 recompiled to be x64 VST for Windows. There's no difference with
the 32 bit version except that the support files (VB3.ini, VB3.lic, VB3.fxp) are
now stored in the System User's path. This is to be intended as a temporary
release until the next version is ready to be released to the public. Only the
VST instrument version is available. The FX variant is not available in VST x64.
Mac users please be patient, unfortunately programming on Mac requires more
    time.

Its certainly an excellent product. There were rumours of a 64 bit version way back when NI discontinued B4 II so its been a long time coming.

I would have bought it back in the day if there had been something more than a rumour of 64 bit in the pipeline. Now? well my B4 II is still working on Win 8.1 and for the most part I am running NI Vintage Organs through LX122 or Melda Vintage Rotary, sometimes with amplitube in the signal chain if I really want serious distortion.

Does the x64 version work with the x32 install code, or does it require a new (purchased) code?

My old x32 code (2009) worked fine with the x64 version.

Got it! Very impressive! The GUI is a little ugly but not as ugly as a B3 and leslie after it's been drug all over the countryside for 45 years! I have B4 but I think this one wins by a nose. Great price too. WIN! WIN!

Everyone still liking this Organ simulator?  I always said that if it came out as a 64 bit app, I would buy it.  Just wondering if any bugs popped up?

I'm installing some of my old VSTs in the new computer so that I can visit some legacy projects in SONAR and Studio One and when I installed Organized Trio, I remembered it was stuck at 32 bit.  I might as well upgrade to the better instrument.  The price isn't too bad considering all of the mileage I got out of OT for free.

I purchased it when it became available as a 64bit vsti. I think it is one of the better/best vsti ones but I still can't find any VSTi's that competes with the Organ sounds in my Korg Oasys 76.

Unfortunately, I know the day will come when the Oasys will take a **** and that will be that so I have been looking for a replacement in a vsti. No luck so far.

I have not had any issues using VB3 64bit so that is a positive and the price was right...

Thumbs up on the 64 bit VB3! Working great and no bugs so far. I bought it the day it was posted. It has replaced B4 altogether. For some reason it really does seem to sit in a mix a lot better. One question. Do you have to purchase the 32 bit version separately? I saw where the guy had the 32 bit version first and his registration worked for the 64 bit as well. I would like to get the 32 bit working for the older legacy 32 bit projects I may have to re-visit.

BTW, Mod Bod, I used the crap out of the older free version of OrganizedTrio for years! the old version only had a nag screen for a few seconds. You didn't have to worry about the white noise burst every ten seconds. I feel guilty now for not going ahead and buying it. I hope I have rectified the situation by investing the money in VB3.

Hi, I've installed the 64 bit dll, and having crashing issues when inserting VB3 as a plug.  I can get it play with a couple of the preset organs (along with nasty noise in the background), but others presets are just noise.  I'm using X3e and the project is 96/24.  I have had no issues on previous projects using the 32-bit dll.  Anyone out there experienced similar issue?

Kind of an old school attempt to fix things but try re-booting. I have had some vstis not work well at all until I re-booted and for whatever reason that straightened things out. The noise you are complaining about could be sample rate problems. It may not work well at 96/24. That's where I would start anyway.

thanks for your reply.  I've rebooted several times, but didn't fix.  You may be right about 96/24.  Looking through my projects, I see no other I've done at 96/24 with VB3.  It certainly isn't playing nice.

Thanks, dcumpian! Do you know if there is any intent to get the 64 bit VB3 to work at higher bit rates? Personally, I am still keeping it down in the 44 and 48 ranges.
The only problem I have had was the 64 bit installation went well but I could not get the 32 bit installation to register until I figured out I had to cut off the firewall. Then it went right in. Kinda strange!

I did contact the vendor, but he said not to use 96/24. Not sure that means anything, but I don't see the current version of VB3 (1.4) ever getting fixed. I believe he is working on version 2.0 at the moment.

In any case, the 32bit build of version 1.4 works with 96/24 and sounds great, so I'll stick with that for now.

Thanks all.  I concur with Dan.  64-bit VB3 does not work with X3e 96/24.  I reverted to the 32-bit dll and it plays fine on 96/24 projects. :)
