Looking for input on this original.

Hi fellow Cakers,

Here is an original I consider one of my better.  Can you give me some feedback on the following.  I'm kind of a classic progressive alternative rocker??  Its great to get fresh ears feedback.

Song class: Alternative?
Song Appeal: 5 out 10?
Mix Quality: 5
Suggestions: Don't quit your day job!

Big Thanks for listening,
Ken

Best Regards,

    Hi Ken
Not bad but there are some odd harmonies - maybe if you sung it would be a better folding. I think the solo guitar steel all the attention now as it is - some balancing would be better.

Ken - I kinda like it - it's sort of like a mix of surf guitar and elevator music. It does have some odd harmonies, but that may be what you're shooting for. Honestly, I wouldn't listen to this a lot, because instrumentals, IMO, need to have some surprises to hold my attention. Something like this might work better with vocals. But it's not bad.

I have to agree that the tune could use a stronger lead melodic instrument/vocal to better carry it forward.   What you have though sounds good IMO.   Mix-wise the guitars are a bit up front for my tastes, particularly because they're throughout the tune.

FWIW, I actually like the delay on the guitar that seems to be adding harmonies - sounds pretty cool to me.  It might work well as a solo section or to balance a separate main melody.
