Avatar weirdness... different avatar when logged out.
I thought I was logged in and started to read a thread to catch up. I had posted in the thread earlier in the week. I noticed that my avatar was an old one that I used some time ago. A picture of a guitar on a stand. However, currently I am using a picture of the Blues Brothers. I clicked beside my name and got a skull and crossbones warning that I did not have access there... that is when I realized I was not logged in. So I logged in and came back and my avatar was then corrected. I decided to check and I logged out again, came back, and there was the old avatar again. Logged back in and the correct avatar is back. What the heck is going on? Will someone else verify this? I don't know if it is me or the forum.. but I do not like it. Thanks and BTW.. what do you see as my avatar. Blues Brothers sitting on a car hood or something else? Thanks again! Julien

Presumably you have an 'offline avatar' as well as an 'online' one. You can change either or both in the user control panel.

In phase one the aliens abduct your avatar.
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Ya. Like James said, you can change it in the user control panel. If prefer to keep people guessing, just use the one.

I haven't noticed that it changed. I don't know if I'm remembering this correctly. When I added my first avatar, the default was that is was good for both on-and-off line. When I changed the on-line avatar the second one remained as the default for off-line. It got changed separately when I had a chance.

Thanks. I've just been a little busy with work and stuff. The changing of the guard/avatar isn't as hard as it may sound. Find an appropriately sized image that you want to use and upload it in the user panel. I think once you've done that, it might ask if you want to use it on or off line. I too, am a little out of it today and it's been a while since I've done it so I may not have the exact sequence. I'll give it a try when I get home.
