Do You Think?

This is a song I started writing ten years ago. You might relate to it if you've ever had someone you care about go down a bad path. Really interested to know what others think of the song--comments and suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to listen.

Pretty good song! The production is not really grabbing me . I think it might do better as a slower ballad but I prefer
that type of music anyway. I definitely think it could turn into something really good.Just MHO!

I like your song Sean, but the vocals are a little pitchy in places.

Drums on a song like this require punch. This sounds like a live kit, recorded w/mics? If it is, there's still a lot that can be done to help them.

When it kicks in to a strong Guns n Roses vibe? I would lose the acoustic and bring in another distorted electric. And the electrics feel buried in the mix to me (the rhythm guitar)

You need to love on this mix a bit... Not sure what tools you have available, in terms of compressors, limiters, exciters, vocal editors, transient shappers, etc... "Colossians 3:14" Love on this mix...

Teego - thanks for listening. I'm a production novice. Still trying to figure out all the tools. I thought about a ballad actually... I may try that.

The Band19 - thanks for taking the time to listen. I'm guessing you're talking about the first chorus...I think that's the pitchiest part to my ears. I think I need to re-do the song in a different key--it's too low in the beginning, and then I had to practically use well-placed vise grips at the end. The drums are Session Drummer 3. Not sure how to make them sound better. In terms of tools, I have Sonar X2 Producer and the plugins that came with it. I've been watching a video about how to use all the tools. Kinda overwhelming...

You'll learn, if you stick with it. I've learned much over the course of a decade or so. Watch, listen, learn...

I still have far to go. Fortunately, I have friends who have skills I do not? And I "luckily" have skills they need :-) Collaborations are your friend.

Thanks for the encouragement. How do collaborations work? Do people Dropbox files back and forth? Where does one find collaborators?
