I like the song. The guitar sounds out of tune though. I like the honest sound of the vocals. It really fits the lyrics. I didn't really think the synth belonged in this song. It's such a simple and down home song that I felt like the synth really took something away from that. Just my opinion. I do like the song though, minus the synth. :)

    That's not what country is.

Please take the time to tune the primary guitar and let the singer go with that. If you want a bass and drums that's OK too, but all the other stuff is distracting from this old classic by Tom T Hall.

drop the doubled guitars and the loud synth totally.

Needs work.  I like the lead vocal and accordian part.  This sounds like a fast demo - not a studio production.

Acoustic guitar is out of tune - again. Synth is a bad choice and completely overpowers the track.

Feel a bit like 'Pistolpete' in saying this, but this really needs redoing from the ground up, to let the song come through.

Hi Shawn, I have listened to both versions of this and I agree with what someone else said about you needing to start over from the ground up. You can remix it 100 times and it won't fix the out of tune guitar. Whoever that is singing has a great voice for this song ,so I think if you simplify it with in tune guitars you can make it sound great. I thought the guitar was ok in the last one you posted because it really made it sound kinda retro but it isn't working for me here. I hope I don't offend you with these comments, because I am trying to be helpful, not critical!
