Sonar catching the tempo changes

Hi

Is there a way to set-up Sonar to catch the tempo changes from a sequence (with multiple tempo changes) that comes from a drum machine? So that i won't have to do it manually in Sonar after...I know how to set Sonar to receive the midi data but don't know for the tempos....Hope it's clear

Thanks

It can be done but it's not particularly straightforward or obvious. Try looking up "Fit to Improvisation" in the manual. To use this feature you need to be able to firstly create a midi clip containing just the beats, 4 to a bar.

Tempo changes are part of what's saved in a MIDI sequence.  But that kind of global data is ignored if you import the MIDI sequence into an already existing project.  You need to Open the MIDI file, then build a project from there. If you do that, all the program changes originally done will be retained.
