8.53 bus automation

Hello all!

I am trying to automate sound volume changes in a stereo bus with multiple sends. Clicking W, the recording buttons, and than varying volume records the changes because when playing back, I can see the slider going up/down according to the way I moved the slider at recording time. HOWEVER, there's absolutely no discernible change in sound level (volume) at playback time.

Anyone as to what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks, John.

You also have to activate the AUTOMATION READ. It is the RD icon next to the W icon

You mentioned using record? You don't need to activate record, that would erase the tracks.
You just activate the W and it will turn red. Hit the space bar to start playback and run through your mix.
Or right click where you want a change in track view on the track, and use the menu to add envelopes and nodes. This is more precise and not as messy as real time editing of envelopes.

Yeah, it turns red and then I activate recording. But I don't want automation on tracks. ONLY in the bus that the tracks are sent to. And, I didn't know that you could automate without hitting record (stupid me). Oh, yea, automation read was activated. The tracks were NOT erased because they didn't have their recording button activated. I'll try again tonight when get back from work.

    Thanks again, John.

If you see the fader moving then you've successfully recorded the automation. It's possible the automation-read option is turned off (the button labeled "RD" in the track header should be "lit").

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
