Problem with Sonar 8.5 and EZdrummer

So why does my Sonar 8.5 DAW still pick up the ED1 when I insert a soft synth? The list only shows one choice for drums, EZdrummer. But when I go into the instrument, it's ED1 NOT ED2.
What have I done wrong, what do I have to do to fix it? Do I have to removev every instance of ezdrummer.dll and only leave the EZdrummer.dll?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

You not being very clear. You say you only have ezdrummer, no TTs-1 no Session drummer, no other synths??
And why do you say this  "  Do I have to removev every instance of ezdrummer.dll and only leave the EZdrummer.dll?"

That is totally conflicting. like- Do I have to remove all the eggs and leave the eggs?

Is the name of the DLL the same for versions 1 and 2?  Normally, a new version will have a different name and be treated as an entirely different instrument, thus allowing the old and new versions to coexist for backward compatibility with existing projects. If that's the case for EZDrummer, then maybe you haven't re-scanned your plugins after installing, or the scan failed.

Can anyone confirm the filenames for versions 1 and 2?

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

EZD2 has the same dll name as the original EZdrummer.  I'm wondering if you manually dragged and dropped your EZdrummer dll into a different folder.  Maybe you have two EZdrummer dlls and your scanning the wrong one.

Yes, they have the same name, but EZDrummer 2 capitalizes the first two letters, thus EZdrummer.dll instead of the old ezdrummer.dll. After much mucking about, I have solved the problem by renaming all of the old .dlls, and moving and copying the new one to a few different spots, since I'm not sure exactly where it should go.

BTW, it only shows one choice for drums, I didn't mention anything else because the drums were all I was talking about. In future, I will include more information.
Thank you all for your input. I don't know how I would learn all of this without a good forum helping me.
