I believe you just drop it in the folder CakewalkContent/SonarX3'producer'etc./instruments

then to use the definition do this

    SONAR Platypus on Win10 64bit.
Studio One Pro / Cubase Pro 9.5...just in case.

Thank You VERY much Shambler for your prompt (and accurate) reply!
I placed the INS file into the Instruments folder and
I'm trying to follow the instructions provided for X3:
    To import instrument definitions
    1.  Go to Edit > Preferences > MIDI - Instruments.
    2.  Click Define to display the Define Instruments and Names dialog box.
I can't click the "Define' button because it is NOT enabled . . .
Is there a magic phrase or something else that I am missing?

    I really appreciate you help!

    THNX !!

There must be an output device defined in Preferences > MIDI > Devices so that the Output/Channel box is populated with something in Preferences > MIDI > Instruments. If the Output/Channel box is empty there is no way to define assignments.

Does anyone know why my Sonar Platinum skip Tyro 5 instrument bank 114. There are 113 above and 115 after but none of 114. I try to record those instrument from the keyboard and save as song and open in Sonar Platinum and it shows the 114 bank. However by just click it, none of 114 bank. It makes me frustrated by I can't use those  114 sounds. I appreciate your help.

    Thanks
