[Solved] I want to upgrade to Melodyne editor but their site won't take my visa debit card
Admin, please move this thread if it is in the wrong location Anyone know of a legit virtual credit card site where I can give them my debit card and get a credit card number that Celemony will accept? Any other options available? I usually buy through PayPal, but it doesn't look like they accept it.

Are you 100% sure you put in the correct Visa card #? Go to Celomony's 'contact us' page and write in your issue. I checked my account and receipt and they do take Visa. So maybe your card has an issue or maybe Celomony's site is under maintenance and you should try again later.

I tried 6 times at their site. Although it has the visa logo, it is marked as a debit card. I've had trouble in the past using it as a credit card through certain vendors.

I've run into this issue also. It seems to be 'foreign' countries cannot accept debit cards but can accept credit cards. Sorry but I don't have a solution...other than having a credit card. Regards

I think also that the problem is debit cards cannot be used across borders unless the banks involved have particularily made a contract allowing it.
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

I checked the card at McDonalds just to make sure it was working properly. No problems there running it through as a visa. I wonder if a prepaid credit card will work. I could just grab one at CVS. $150 is a lot of money to be playing around with though, especially if they don't accept those either...

If debit cards cannot be used across borders, than the credit card, prepaid or unsecured will work. As long as its a credit card and not a debit card

I had the same issue several months ago trying to upgrade. Email Melodyne and tell them you want to upgrade and use paypal....they had me going in a matter of minutes.

I have upgraded with debit VISA. But there was one point: they check that the card is issued in the country you report as yours... May be this check is failing in your case, for some reason.

A Happy Ending: I went to the ATM and tried to take out the cash to get a prepaid credit card, but my debit card had been inactivated by the bank's fraud alert system (too many tries at the celemony site). So when I got back home, I called the number on the back of the credit card to speak with a rep. After a few verification questions to make sure that I was indeed the card owner, the card was reactivated. The good news is that they marked the transaction request as valid and I was able to go back to the website and purchase the upgrade. Yea! So all is well in my little musical world again! Thanks for all of the replies.
