[Solved] Soundfonts

I still have some great sounding soundfonts that I'd like to use in X2.
Do any of the things included with Sonar X2 support soundfont playback?

Thanks.

Not at my music omputer, but SoundFonts are close to SFZ files, just nowhere near as sophisticated. Try loading them into anything that plays SFZ files and see what happens.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

Cake's SFZ+ player will play them - I believe it's free (or has been) but the link doesn't seem to go anywhere but back to the cakewalk store - might be worth contacting customer service to get an active link.

Alternatively, Sforzando is a free SFZ player that will autoconvert SF2 to SFZ:

SFZ Soundfont Player should be able to handle SF2 files, and came with X2 Studio and Producer, although it might not have been installed by default. I believe it was available as a free download for a while, but the links on the Cakewalk site all seem to be dead ends now.

Since the recent site maintenance, some links have been broken. The search from the Cakewalk homepage reveals the download location http://www.store.cakewalk...ductid=35-CWSZ1.40-20E

SFZ is part of the the standard 32 and 64bit X2 installs. It was never a free download. SFZ+ is though.

DropZone, RXP, Session Drummer 2 and 3, and the LE versions of Dimension and Rapture can all load SFZ files.
