    I use Bitdefender...it's rated the best...and it's very un-intrusive...
I got the Total Security Pack for next to nothing...and it's performed
    brilliantly for quite awhile....

Good find. I use Win 8.1.1 so no need for that. But I'm sure many others will like this zero price!!

LOL Larry, I also use Bit Defender Total Security (got it for free from a Best Buy purchase), and do like it very much......very small footprint on the system, but does a huge amount of security details.

AVG isn't the best AV program for DAWs, IMO. It has become somewhat bloated since its early days and it isn't the best at stopping infections. When repairing computers I constantly come across badly infected computers that I used AVG as the antivirus. BitDefender is a very good low resource AV program and I use it on our laptops, but I use NOD32 on my DAW, which is also low resource and quite good at detection. I use NOD32 when repairing computers- to clean infections off computers that were running AVG, McAfee and Norton.

Avast is a decent program and has a free version - Bitdefender is better and also has a free version, but if I had to choose between Avast and AVG, I'd use Avast over AVG any day.
