A brilliant artist and designer. His set and creature designs for 'Alien' were groundbreaking, and copied ever since.

    Hi,

Very good artist, in many ways, though his work tended to be more towards the mixed media stuff than it was original. Still the combination was quite vivid and strong.

He has a lot more work that is more sexual/sensual, than this stuff that he is better know for, via ELP's cover and similar works. His design for the film Alien was really nicely done, and something that film is not quite able to do or try, though at the time it made sense. Nowadays, with the ability to do this on computer and electronics, movie "sets" will get even better and more complicated than the landscapes that showed up at "Alien".

    Nice work. RIP

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!
