Great song Joshua. the vocal in particular.
All the instruments sound very up front to me, maybe relegate a few of them to support rather than everything right there. There is an out of tune vocal note about 2.20 which was a bit distracting, but as I said, the vocal was very impressive.

The vocal is enthusiastic and the mix very busy as noted by rebel perhaps a revisit to create some space around each contributing instruments.  But what would my furry alien ears know.

Great song Joshua.  This is very different from the other song you submitted, and it shows your versatility.  I'm all for getting together at the coffee shop.  Send me a PM.

    All the best,

    Joshua,

Good song, I liked your vocals on this.  There was the issue @ 2:20 as was pointed out, but otherwise very well done.  You have really made some serious strides in your vocal performance.  Nice.

    Regards

    Hey Rebel,

I agree with you, it's busy...I think I was self conscious on this deal and so I left the instruments there or prominent and busy, but now I think I could pull them back. Thing is - there's not much in the way of mid-range instrumentation...basically the organ playing the offbeat and a piano part playing a little more of a busy part...both panned, 3x%.

There's also a multi-band comp with a push in the mid-range 800 to make that mid-range sound that's there a little more present - so that could be contributing too.

Wook, Lynn, Mark - thank you all! This is a fun song for me. I want to post the original arrangement, minus the vocal - just for fun. I couldn't make it work...so I flipped to this.

Nice poppy tune.....The intro didn't do much for me...and the keys are somewhat of a distraction for the vox which is clearly the strength of this tune. Your vox has a bit too much compression for my taste but thats somewhat of a preference these days so I do "get it". The chorus is quite strong...but the crash cymbals need a bit of work (they quickly cut off) as well as the bass clearly feels synthetic...its a good bass line...just would like to feel it a bit more and move away from that tone. As noted above at the 2:00 your vox gets a bit messy (crashes at 220)...which in some tunes wouldn't matter (at least to my ears) but they do take away in this particular tune in that everything (vox wise) is so squeaky clean/spot on it clearly comes across as an error and not a tonal choice. I would have road the ending out for longer (3 to 5 times longer) while fading..because that part (chorus) is a gem...

Good job overall and with a bit more tweaking you'd be in pop-heaven!
