Music Creator 6 vs Sonar x1 LE

A newbie to this forum and recording.  I have Music Creator 6 installed on my computer and received Sonar x1 LE with a purchase of a Roland Tricapture.  Being a Novice my question is it worth installing Sonar x1 LE or staying with my Music Creator 6 to start my education.  Would appreciate your advice on how to start out.

    • Well there no reason not to install X1LE, you can have as many DAW's and versions of Cakewalk as your hard drive will hold. One benefit is each comes with different VST and plug ins efxs. So the more versions you have the merrier.
    • ( where these bullets coming from??) cool
    • If you curious go to the above browser bar - Cakewalk - Products and look for the 2 versions your comparing. Print off the feature lists and see the differences.
    • One bonus about getting the free version of LE is they will send you an offer to upgrade to the higher versions which you might want to do if your desire more tools.  So after you install LE register with Cakewalk to receive the E mails.

I just checked out Music Creator 6 Touch ( you can get this version free by the way) and it looks like it is more like X3 (Plain version, not studio or Producer) so it is a much better version than X1LE.
It comes with way better soft synth's and exfs. Looking at the screen shots it also looks exactly like any X series version of Sonar. So X1 LE is not going to offer you anything better at all. But as I said, it has value as an upgrade pathway to any of the Sonar products if you see there are features you are needing down the road.

But to answer your question about which to start out with- The workings for  recording and editing is all the same with all versions of Cakewalk. You learn one, you learn them all. I would play with Music creator and only if you run into a roadblock with needing "more" would I upgrade. It might be all you ever need.
Spend more money for higher versions.. get better Soft Synths and Efxs. that's about it. But those items can be added via 3rd Party and a lot out there is also free.
