Programming Cakewalk Generic Controller Surface

I am using an old M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 as my controller surface but I am having difficulty understanding how to program the knobs and sliders to control more than one track.  For instance, I can program slider 1 to control the volume for track 1, but cant figure out how to program slider 2 for track 2, slider 3 for track 3, etc.  Can someone give me a hand or point me to a good tutorial?

I have resolved part of my problem by using the ACT midi controller instead of the cakewalk generic interface.  There are still a number of things I am unsure of how to do. For instance, I want to assign slider 9 to master volume, and the sliders in bank 2 to tracks 9-16.  I am also unsure what the functions of some of the buttons and options control, for instance NxtRtsANdSldsB - I suspect that I need documentation regarding basic midi commands and would appreciate some suggestions.

    enjoy!

to make those specific assignments you'll want to look at your control surface properties (make sure you look at both tabs)
you can map it by using act.......move the volume you want with your mouse.....then on the control surface and save those settings

i'm at work so it's hard for me to recall this stuff without looking
