My First Instrumental

I shared this with a guy - I originally planned a vocal to be on it. In fact, it's the same song as "live it up" - but I couldn't get the vocal to work...so I scrapped it and just finished it as an instrumental. But after listening to his feedback about not scrapping stuff I can't get my vocal to work on, I decided to share.

Feel free to kick it over, trash it, love it, send me money, tell me I'm terrible and should quit. All comments will have God's desired effect on my soul.

Thanks!

    Joshua,

You have musically captured the "80's vibe"   It is a cool progression, you should definitely continue to experiment with adding a vocal track to this.  A feel good song for sure....

Only suggestion - The drums are a little too clean and modern for 80's.  Need a lot more snare reverb and that general gated 80's drum sound.  Below is a little tutorial on YouTube that covers the effect to some extent.  Good post.

Joshua, you left the best instrument that you possess off of this-your voice.  Keep working at writing lyrics and a melody, and you'll have a hit.  The arrangement is essentially good, and when and if you add a vocal or two, you can change the drums or anything else after the fact if you feel the need.  I like the synth work, it adds a nice texture.

    All the best,
    Lynn
