Project files.

Could anyone enlighten me as to how I can delete project files, as with anything new I tend to do a lot of experimenting and testing, hence I have a lot of test projects saved that are just taking up space. If I just delete them from the project folder I end up with a lot of broken links and the names I have used become unavailable.

Sounds like you're not setting up projects with audio sub-folders.  You really need to use the "per project" option, so that a project folder consists of the .cwp file(s) and a sub-folder with nothing but the audio for that particular project.  Deleting is straight-forward - you just select the master folder for the project and delete it.

Thank you for the reply, I can delete the folders computerwise no problem, Cakewalk projects, what I'm looking for is a way to delete the projects from within X3 so as not to have X3 looking for them on start up and to release already used titles.

    Sonar 4 , 6, 8.0, 8.5. X3, X3studio, X3 producer.
Athalon quad core something or other, on board Via audio, ASIOALL for independant VST play.

OH - OK.  You don't want deleted projects to show up in Sonar's pop-up start menu.- Why is that an issue?  You just select what you want, either from that menu or the regular Open menu.  What's the problem of having some defunct projects listed-?

I have to admit I don't understand what you mean. If I delete a per-project file that's it (or the project file and respective audio). You don't comment anything that Rbowser writes above. It seems like you are deleting the project file and leaving the audio. That's the only explanation for having titles or links  "reserved" , IMO.
Before we can help, we need to know what you're doing.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Thank you for your responses, the issue is now resolved. My concern was deleting a project file in explorer having an effect in sonar. I was creating a new project in sonar with a previously used title ie: test, sonar wouldn't allow it. In general computer terms it would ask if I wanted to overwrite it, no such option in sonar. If I delete in explorer the title becomes available again thankfully. One of my concerns was crashing out sonar by incorrect deletion of project files.
I am set to store audio in the named project file and when I delete, all files relevant go. I have tested it and all seems good. Thank you both again for your assistance
