[Solved] problem copying and pasting with a melodyne region created

Has anyone else run into this problem?  just trying to copy and paste a section that has a melodyne region created and not being able to, as per this video http://blog.cakewalk.com/sonar-x3-melodyne-video1/,  it allows the copy part but pasting is not working via keyboard shortcut and is greyed out in the pulldown menu.  is this something i'm doing wrong or a Sonar issue.  i'm using X3e version.

Bounce to clip the Melodyne region before copying and pasting. You cannot copy and paste what is not transferred into melodyne. Melodynbe needs to have its audio transferred in order for it to read and effect the audio being played through it. you cannot just copy and paste melodyne regions at will. It is not how this works.

ok, thanks for the info. the video could have been a little more clearer in that respect, but an easy work around

Think of it this way. While in Melodyne, the file is in a parallel universe. It has to return to this universe to be copied, pasted, split, and the other functions normally used in conjunction with files.

I'm pretty sure I was able to copy/paste Melodyne regions in X3a or b.

Sure you can't just CTRL- drag it? I do this all the time. I thought stuff like that was the whole part of the ARA integration.

From the manual:
Region FX clip restrictions
The following editing functions are disabled for Region FX clips:
• Clip automation.
• Copy/paste for a time selection that contains a Region FX.
• Split clip.
• Slip-stretch clip when the Follow Host Tempo option is enabled.
• Groove Clip looping.
• AudioSnap.
