Upright Bass!
I can't get over the upright sound in Dimension Pro. I LOVE IT! With the pitch wheel they are all so fine! I sit down and start jammin bass lines and when I look up 3 hours has gone by! Amazing! I've played with many upright players but I can't seem to fine anyone around here to jam with. I had to say something about it. AND Z3TA 2! Don't get me started!

The upright bass does sound nice. I've used it in a couple songs myself.

Nothing beats the fun and especially when it works for you. What dropped my jaws was this- Trilian It is expensive and I believe it's really great for a keyboardist but even with midi guitar it's most excellent. If you ever go for the best I believe you'd end up with Trilian...or any of the Spectrasonics works. They also have great support, video lessons and once you own- the updates additional improvements cost you nothing...you not only end up with amazing works but a software company that doesn't try to "trap" you into paying every time you turn around. After you own any of their offerings it doesn't take long to realize that the purchase price wasn't bad at all. Now nothing beats playing/recording my Geddy Lee but when I do use midi...I don't know of anything that comes close to Spectrasonics....well...those cats in Boston sure made a statement with X3 Producer, no doubt. Now if Gibson would get all their electronic BS goals directed from screwing up guitars at having their own unit like the Axe FX 2 to integrate with Sonar...well...PT knew the value of that but dropped the ball. Oh well, just my 2 if that.

I loved the DP upright also. Until I saw the previously mentioned Trilian. After watching the videos with Lyle Mayes (one of my favorite musicians) I absolutely had to purchase...and have not regretted it. Regards,

Thanks guys! I spent all my extra money on RAM and a hard drive but I'm happy with DP. I posted 2 songs with it. One was an original jam I call John L and the 2nd was a standard Autumn leaves. I spent more time just playing around with the uprights than it took to record it. Fun!

Bill, have you tried out Midi Guitar (to run DP or Z3ta+2)? I was messing with Z3ta+2 and some of Kore2 players presets last weekend (via Midi Guitar) and it was really cool to trigger softsynths with this.......the pads were awesome.

I play enough keyboard I decided not to get the midi guitar. I love Z3ta+2! Amazing what you can do with that and it's pretty easy.

I am looking forward to recording this upright bass on Friday and Saturday: It is a very early Fender Jazz Bass which had a steel pole mounted to the tail back when it was being played in Eastern Seaboard and Caribbean night clubs by the current owner's father. Good Times! :-) spelling
