SONG: Russian Roulade
Hi, I've got a new song out. It's called "Russian Roulade" - you can check it out here: http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12810766It features mostly my new guitar - built by a Russian builder, hence the name. It was made with SONAR X3, and features the usual suspects: Real Guitar (using amp sim plugins now) Superior Drummer Trilian Bass a few Kontakt and Omnisphere bits and pieces... As usual, let me know what you think...

I don't usually comment on guitar tones but that is sweet John.

Yep, sweet tones. Second half from the break in the middle works well, interesting guitar work.

Thanks a lot for listening Bapu and rebel. I've also started using S-Gear amp sims instead of my POD XT, and I think they sound good with my new guitar ;-)

Cool tune! I like that there a variety of guitar tones happening throughout. And S-Gear definitely seems like your guitar. Just as important, it actually sounds like you had fun creating this.

I like the drums. The guitar sounds are pretty good. You might be able to add some more space to it with additional panning, unless you were trying to make it more of a mono mix. I like it!

John, Sounds great. i might add a little delay on the guitars to create some more dimension but they sound good. Nice groove. Regards

Really polished guitar sounds. I feel the panning could be better balanced. Also agree with adding some delay. Nice overall tone.

Wow, thanks for all the comments! Especially re: panning. I didn't have a real lot to work with - so I just panned the rhythm guits and kept the melody in the centre. I guess you guys are talking about short delays to "spread" the guitar sounds? If so - maybe I was going for a more "traditional" kind of guitar sound - I really just wanted it to sound like a few guitars and amps in a room. I did bring in some ping pong delays at the end - but that's different ;-) And yes steve - it was definitely fun! That's the whole point ;-) PS - I'm also thrilled with the Scuffham (S-Gear) amps. They feel a whole lot more like "real" amps than the POD, and they're not expensive. He should be coming out with an updated version pretty soon now too... PPS - Most importantly, thanks a lot for taking the time to listen steve, starise, mark and gus!!
