This does not scare me because every few years someone comes up with charts paralleling 1929 and now. It makes for good convo, but the financial world is so much different now. We have actually had larger drops than 1929 and it do not have the same results.

It did drop some but came back up... however, it can't continue to just go up forever. One day the dollar will fall and everything will change. It is almost to 17,000 today. All on artificial FED Reserve manipulations IMO. That is what really scares me, our money is worth nothing more than the credit of the government, it has no inherent value and the FED keeps playing games. They have REALLY hurt the elderly who saved and have tried to supplement their income with interest. It is hard to live on 1% interest. It is badly corrupted. http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/index/DJIA/charts J

Hi, What is more scary than anything is that we're in such a society as to get overloaded with information and garbage, to the point that no one knows if anything is right or wrong. In thoses days, there was no such, to the point that people even got scared poopless when Orson Welled had a little fun on the radio, and later wanted to do the same thing in the movies but a publishing empire tried to stop him! However, I do think that the numbers are vastly different these days ... percentage wise. That drop relates to something that 80 years ago was totally different, and would have a much larger effect than today!

The Hindenburg Omen..... (look it up) has been triggering more in recent months..... just another sign, not the absolute proof. Another factor is BRICS. (Brazil, Russia, India, China, Spain) These countries have formed a pac, as well as rumors that Russia, China, and some middle east countries want to start trading oil in "other than the US currency world reserve". That's perhaps the most frightening of the indicators that trouble is coming. Consider that more than a few countries would like to see the US dollar removed as the world's trading currency standard. Look at what happened to and in Britain when the Pound Sterling was replaced by the dollar as the world reserve currency. The British empire fell apart in a catastrophic way and did so rather quickly. Britain went from THE world power to a small island in the North Atlantic almost overnight. Combine all that with a posted national debt approaching 18 trillion and unfunded debt in excess of 100 trillion that no one likes to talk about..... considering that I've heard an estimate that all the wealth in the world is estimated at around 350 trillion..... we own 1/3 approx of that debt.... Interest rates are being kept artificially low for a reason. That reason is simple arithmetic. If interest rates rise, the money owed on our debt in interest payments would quickly exceed the income through taxes, and the ability of the US to make those interest payments to the bankers would not be possible to make. Make no mistake..... that day is coming.... one way or another. The economy can not remain propped up by the fed pumping more money into the supply.... (inflating the dollars) since they know good and well that we are on a dangerous course by doing that. No country, no economy has ever come out of that intact. But, on the other hand, if they stop pumping, the markets collapse. Watch the markets when they announce a simple cutting back or reduction in the amount of pumping. We're currently in the proverbial place of being between the rock and the hard place. They know it. Anybody notice the number of bankers in the top banks that have been committing suicide recently? When will it happen? How will it happen? No one has that answer. There will be a trigger event, and when it happens, hold on.... because it will be one wild and crazy ride. Life as we know it will likely change in dramatic ways. OK..... enough of my ramblings..... I got chores to do and preps to make....
BTW: I hope I'm truly way, way, way, off base in my thoughts and predictions......and all this will just be a little bump in the road to better things.....

What is more scary than anything is that we're in such a society as to get overloaded with information and garbage, to the point that no one knows if anything is right or wrong. I think about this a lot. Everybody seems to have an agenda, which is usually figuring out how to get their hand into your pocket. You can't trust the news media. You certainly can't trust the internet. You never could trust the government. And the truly scary thing is that even if somebody wants to report the unbiased truth they can't, because any references they might consult would be suspect. We live in a world where political correctness demands that every point of view be given equal weight. Where "experts" is always in quotes, as if such a thing as expertise didn't really exist. Where science is viewed with distrust but pseudo-science is swallowed without question. The Discovery and History channels have been taken over by made-up B.S. "documentaries" about ghosts, Bigfoot and mermaids. 30% of Americans can't identify the Pacific Ocean on a globe, but they can easily identify alien buildings in Mars photos. For myself, I am a committed skeptic. Which is to say that I presume by default that anything I read, anything the TV tells me, and most important, everything I already believe is probably wrong, either in whole or in part. To quote Harry Truman - himself a master of disingenuous propaganda - "show me".

Since the fed can buy or short any dollar, gold, S&P futures it wants with monopoly money, it has a lot of power to move markets where it wants them thus controlling the world. Hope is not a very good strategy for anything but, In the back of my head I keep hearing Dick Cheney's comment that "the American way of life is non-negotiable". But, If China and Russia decide that enough is enough, well, that might be a different story. We are all in this together whether we like it or not, and we will all be under one global rule eventually. So, you might as well realize that these are the good old days.

Nope, not scared. If I were to be scared about things that may or may not happen, which is not something I do, I guess it would be getting eaten by a big monster or maybe a big snake...and then fear would probably be replaced with the will to survive. I almost got sprayed with hippo **** at the San Diego zoo...I remember that being kind of scary. That would have a long ride back to the room. So I guess if their fortune telling charts had pictures of...nope...don't think that would scare me either. I sure don't like the idea of being way out in the ocean floating around waiting for help...that's kind of scary too. Well that's all I think of right now that kind of scares me...but it's only my first cup of morning coffee. Maybe I'll think of something really scary later on.

Yes... probably South Africa.... The point being that there are countries actively working to de-throne the US dollar as the world reserve currency. That is not good for us in any way shape or form, but as has been said by some wise sage..... the only thing that doesn't change is change. Absolutely, there is ALWAYS an agenda to everything our governments do. What something looks like on the surface is never the whole story. It's like an onion. Get past the surface and there are more layers, peel away one and there's another deeper layer. The deeper you go the more you want to cry. The most recent release of the Taliban hostage is a prime example. Every day it seems something new and more disturbing comes out...... Read the history of some of the things our govt did to the people, our people, our citizens..... ask the Japanese people who were American citizens before WW2.... ask the native Americans about Wounded Knee..... ask the farmers in 1791 making liquor, about the Whiskey rebellion with the army to put the rebellion (not paying liquor tax) being led by none other than (sitting president at the time) George Washington.... The Federal reserve and our monetary police are no different. I'm sure everything will be ok and we can trust them this time..... right?
