Two TTS bugs: Reverb CC#91 and Mixer instrument selection
I was working on a TTS track yesterday -- particularly, trying to remove built-in reverb from a MIDI patch. Doing this, I noticed two glitches. 1) I inserted Reverb CC# 91 and set to zero -- it worked. However, when I deleted the Reverb event, the effect remained. 2) I replaced the synth with a new TTS one, which allieviated the issue and reset the instrument to its default state. However, now when I change TTS instruments through the Mixer, the settings resets when I hit that PLAY button. (This is a bug previously addressed when I change effects in the Mixer window and it has never been fixed.) I can change instruments with the Patch button in the Track strip and it works fine. Can anyone help identify these issues for me and what happened/how to prevent next time? (I would like to continue to utilize TTS in my projects.) Thanks in advance.

TTS1 is unlikely to be supported any more. I hope one day Cake releases a TTS2 and address everybodies issues.
Anyway over to the TTS experts...

A control for the midi reverb send parameter is in the track inspector. If that has been set non-0, events in the track will only change the effect at that point in playback. Hitting play will always send the setting from the track parameter, unless you use event chasing and have an event earlier than the playback marker on the track. Maybe you could explicitly set the reverb setting there to 0.* Also, patches in the track header load on play and override whatever you set from the mixer. Maybe you could set the bank & patch to "none". Edit: * track parameters that are set to default do not get sent, therefore would use the patch internal setting. Double click would set a parameter to default and maybe change the display of the parameter. Touch it to set it explicitly.

MIDI reverb send parameter in the track inspector...track inspector...I'm sorry, this is a little unclear to me. Where would I be looking for that in the track pane/inspector pane?

Jlien X Here:

Ah! That's what I thought you were referring to, except my Inspector was displaying only one strip. The Reverb default on this TTS track is definitely zero. Although this particular instrument (DistortionGt) has built-in reverb, I was able to remove it by raising the dial and then minimizing it again to remove the effect entirely. Thanks for the help on this!

So they weren't bugs - you just didn't understand what causes MIDI settings to persist...right?

Well -- question #1 is solved now because I can adjust the reverb in the Inspector. As far as question #2, for some reason, the instrument selection from the TTS Mixer window didn't keep. This is a similar behavior to when setting reverb and chorus (or any other effects) from that Mixer...the moment you hit Play, the effects don't stay. Please see this thread (post #2) where it was initially discussed: TTS Mixer settings don't stay

Take a look at the event list to see if there's a program change command embedded in the track.

This might help. I was having an issue with MIDI CC7 being sent out with no CC events in the track. I tried the MIDI event filter plugin but that didn't help and defaulting the fader iddnt' help either. Then I was told about right clicking on a control and disabling it. It worked for my track faders and the reverb and chorus controls in the MIDI track inspector.
