Setting Up Axiom MIDI-Keyboard to use with soft-synth plug-ins in Sonar X3

I have Reaper, and can use my Axiom to play soft-synth for recording. But for the life of me I can't figure out how to the Axiom to play soft-synths in Sonar X3.

I have the Axiom listed in the Preferences' device box, and I redirected Sonar's search file to find all my VST(i) plug-in. I can play the soft-synths using my mouse, but can't get the Axiom configured to play the soft-synths. Can someone please help?

TIA

To my knowledge it should work just fine. Have you been successful using other controllers with softsynths in Sonar? If not perhaps watching the beginner Sonar videos on their youtube channel will help.

Make sure the "Input Echo" button on the track is turned on. Cheers.

    Hello,

Do you have the axiom set as the input on the midi track.. How is your track setup? Is it a simple instrument track or is it setup with the midi track and and audio track(s)? Either way if you see the Axiom under Prefs, Midi and it is checked. Ensure that on the track (if simple instrument) that the input is the Axiom or on the midi track (if separate midi and audio track(s) that it is the Input.

Another quick check to see if you are triggering the device is to Load a soft synth into a simple instrument track, Make the input to the Axiom, go to the task bar (Windows). There you will find a "midi indicator" with two red led's.  Hit a key on the controller and see if you have activity. If not check the connection to your controller and/or reboot and try again.  IHTH....

Ok, I didn't have the 'simple instrument track' button selected in the 'Insert Soft-Synth' window. It's now playing.

    Thanks, again.
