Guitar Rig Pro 5 fxp files...

Any one have some good .fxp files they'd like to share? I'm looking for really good acoustic set up and some authentic soul guitar tines. i.e. Al Green, Marvin Gaye, O'Jays, ISley Bros, Parliament-Funkadelic, Nile Rodgers, Also some really good Metal tones both clean & distorted i.e. Sevendust, Nonpoint, Deftones, Breaking Benjamin A perfect Circle, Killswitch Engage, Alter Bridge, AX7 etc... Just putting it out there in case anyone has experimented with these tones and found close results.

If you go to Native Instruments's web site, they have a great set of community forums for their different products, and you can review and download all kinds of collections of GR patches.

I have a zillion such patches, going back to GR3 on up to GR5, and use many of them in various projects I have done over the years.

Go check them out - DO leave feedback for the folks who put in the time to create and freely share their patches - it just takes a couple of minutes, and seems a good, kind, and ethical thing to do, in return for getting their patches for free.

Here is a link to the Native Instruments User Libraries:

http://www.native-instruments.com/en/community/user-libraries/

For some reason this was hard to find, but some digging in Google turned it up.  Guitar Rig banks abound in there, and for other synth components, as you see from the link (Reaktor, etc.),  In particular, there are ZILLIONS of Reaktor synths that are really well done, and all free.

I hope the above helps,

Thanks Bob,

I've actually been to the forum but it didn't seem that active at the time. I hadn't been back in a while. Will
have to check it out again.

Re: Guitar Rig Pro 5 fxp files... 2014/06/14 23:32:28 (permalink)
I just spent the ENTIRE day going through the Guitar Rig and Reaktor user libraries, and downloaded literally HUNDREDS of patches and Reaktor ensembles, going back as many as 7-8 years.

Reaktor 5 goes back something like 6 years, and even ensembles created for Reaktor 4 still seem to load up into Reaktor 5, so I went through literally something like 1300+ user-created synthesizers created for Reaktor.

I also went through hundreds of Guitar Rig patches, and downloaded a whole bunch of those too - they work GREAT, even those from prior versions of Guitar Rig.

I don't know if you have other NI components, but there is a free set of something like 8000 patches for FM8, that are every single Yamaha DX patch ever released - including DX7, DX9, TX series, etc, and they sound GREAT when you load them into FM8.

SOOOO, those user libraries are a gold mine, as well as other locations on the web for patches and such.

I really need to visit there again...   I did so shortly after getting Komplete, but only downloaded a handful of user presets and haven't really tried them out.   Thanks for the inspiration.

Hey Bob, what are some other sites to search for GR5 files? I got some good rock & metal tone settings but not a wide choice soul/r&b style tones. 60's & 70's r&b. That old motown & philly soul sound. It will be really hard to emulate with software but I want to get close as possible. I have not even touched reaktor yet. I've only gotten into Battery 4, Kontakt & Guitar Rig 5.

Oh I do have a question.... Does Elektrik Piano come with Komplete 9? It came with 3 but everytime I open Sonar it says invalid activation code for Elektrik Piano? Not really sure what's going on there.

Some of my favorite Reaktor ensembles were downloaded for free from the user library. There are some incredible creations in there that I probably would have spent money on if they were charging for it. Eccentrix for example is one of the best sounding synths I have, and was totally free. I keep forgetting there are user libraries for GR and other NI products, will have to check them out tonight.

Maybe that'll be one of my main goals for this evening. To research reaktor and experiment with it to see how I can best utilize it. I'll youtube it to see what I can find out about it. Any good videos I that demos it?

There's a good Reaktor course on Groove3 which teaches the basics. It doesn't go very deep into the mechanics of synth building but it does teach you the basic functionality very well. I believe the author of those videos also has some Reaktor stuff on YouTube. If you Google Reaktor tutorials you'll also come across a site dedicate to them, they sell a full course for $40 or so but they also have a lot of free lessons as well.
