Pro Channel Gate...has it ever required the auth code??

...of all of the Pro channel FX I have, Ca2A, Concrete Limiter, Pc4k Channel Comp, and the Expander/Gate,
the Gate is the only one that never asks for the authorization code. It requires the Serial for instal but never the Auth when the Pro Channel is open with the Gate present, like all the other PC FX do.

Is this normal for the Expander/Gate??? Either Version 1. or 1.01??

Yes, I've always had to enter the code.

I just did a clean install of Win 7 sp1 on my office rig.
Installed all the PC modules last night in fact!
The Expander/Gate (v1.01) DID NOT require the Auth code.
(it did require the serial number for install, but no auth code on first launch)
My install notes show it DID NOT when I originally installed it; what, few years back?

That's weird. I wonder why I've always had to. It's just that one.

I installed it in June 2012, my store account has a serial number and registration code for it and the registry contains the serial number so it appears it was required at that time. I do not know if the requirement has changed since them.

    bump
I wouldn't mind knowing the answer , it's the same deal over here
the expander/gate only took the serial number and I haven't heard much from it since ..
works nice and it sure cleans up a lot the slop and hum that single coil Strat pick ups tend to generate
also is there any documentation on this plug ?

is there any documentation on this plug ?

Click in the body of the FX and then hit F1. The help file is installed with the dll in C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal\PC4KGate

I just did replaced my C drive and did a clean install of all and the gate did not need the registration.  It was the only PC module like that.  I remember on initial install, it was that way too.  There IS a reg # in my account, should that arise, but as noted by the OP, it wasn't needed.
