What to do with 40 Jam Points?
I have 40 jam points about to expire. I have T-Racks Deluxe, The Vintage Program EQ, The Black 76, Amplitube 3 full, Ampeg SVX, The Hendrix presets not the Anniversary upgrade, the Orange Tiny Terror, '57 Champ and the Soldano Slo 100. Any ideas? Thanks. Rocky

Among the newer T-RackS gear, the Neve EQs and the Mastering EQ are excellent emulations. As for the guitar amps, I like the Dr. Z and HiAmp models ... I don't think those are included in the full Amplitube 3 package. Worth demoing, anyway. Cheers, Eddie

Honestly, this is the best scenario in my opinion too even from "the inside".

Used to be 50%, but I think they changed it so that you can use JamPoints on sale-priced items as well. So the best thing may be to wait until the next big Credits sale and use your points then. Unless they change up the rules again. Or have already. Hard to keep up ... where's my "IK Shopping for Dummies" book? Cheers, Eddie

That would be my choice too, but I held off buying until Slate comes out with their entry in the Definitive Neve EQ Plugin contest. When they do, it'll be a cage match between Slate, IK, UAD, and Waves for the title. Stay tuned ... Cheers, Eddie

I think I would rather have the new "SlickEQ" when it comes out. It looks like a good way to spend $40. Not that I need another EQ.

I think it would be cool if IK had "actual" Jam Points. You know, strawberry, grape, blueberry, blackberry, etc...
Then you'd never have to worry about Sunday breakfast again.

I also have all of these (except the Vintage EQ) + a bunch more.......and wondered what to do with my 116 jam points. I like the idea of buying credits, but wondering if there's stuff that I really could use or need.......(I don't have iOS).

Credits could be used in the future, His jam points are about to expire. I've read on other forums were IK have mentioned Amplitube 4, but who knows when then would come out.

Yes, you answered your own question. There is some cool stuff coming, especially on the T-RackS side in my opinion but I understand that's really not doing you any good at this moment.

I love the echoplex or tape echo. I was demoing it today. It's got a nice compressed sound to it for guitars. You could get that pretty cheap.

I've decided to let my jam points expire. I'm not keen on the idea of buying stuff that I don't need or want for the sake of following a clever marketing model. Even if I use the points to buy credits, I'll be in this same position again in the future. I am impressed with IK's marketing model. The sense of urgency has been a time honored marketing tool through the ages but combined with a considerable discount is pure genius. I considered upgrading T-Racks Deluxe to Grand but I have a few overlapping plugs that I wouldn't be getting credit for. If there was something there that I need or want I would be on board. Thanks for all of the input and kudos to IK for staying here even though they are hit with significant abuse from some members of the forum. Rocky

Uh oh ... you've seen the JamPoints scheme for what it is -- a marketing gimmick. What's next, expressing skepticism at advertising claims? Oh, the horror. Seriously, good for you in resisting the urge to buy something just because it may seem like a good deal. If you don't need it, there's no point in spending any money for it, as I try to keep reminding myself. Cheers, Eddie

Kudos to you for making the right choice for you, I hope the information I posted in this thread helped you come to the right decision for you (as I tried to be honest that upcoming TR gear wouldn't really help entice you at this point as it is on spec and not out yet). Hopefully in the future you find something enticing enough, with or without JamPoints :)

Thanks! I'm sad I reminded myself of the new TR stuff though, as that typically takes a lot of work and some time so I'm super impatient for some of that :) I appreciate the kind words.
