X1 fx chain prestes and track/project templates in X3?

Hi,

I am thinking of upgrading from X1 Producer to X3 Producer. Will I be able to import/use all my old fx chain presets and track/project templates etc. in X3?

thanks fpr sharing your experience, drjee

I only use a few custom templates and have not had issues with any X series version. AFAIK, FX chains are compatible across the X series.

I believe they are usable across the X series, as well, and have seen no information to the contrary.

I simply copied my older X-series track and project templates into the appropriate content folders in X3, and they all seem to work fine.

I DO recommend X3 - and if you do pick up the upgrade, I would suggest you leave X1 installed for a bit after the X3 install, AND as posted earlier in the day elsewhere, it is suggested that you do NOT have the X3 install copy over your X1 settings, but rather have the X3 install treated like a brand new install (then you have to go in and set paths for folders and plugins, but no big deal, and this way you get whatever new defaults in X3 they built in, rather than carrying forward X1 settings).

X3 ROCKS, so I hope you choose to do it.

Here is the link from the forum from earlier today, which is regarding X2 to X3, which would be quite similar to your upgrade: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3056271
