Britson Crashes My Projects

I recently purchased the  Sonimus Britson v1.1 Plugins. I use Cakewalk Sonar X3e x64 as my DAW.
Whenever I use Britson x32 or x64 in a session, save the project, close Sonar then attempt to reopen the session, the session crashes. I'm not sure if it is the Channel or the Buss plugin that is causing the issue.
my computer specs are:
AMD A10 Quad core processor
8GB of ram
Windows 8.1
Cakewalk Sonar X3 ver. E

Has anyone else had this issue?

I do not have this plugin, and the only plugin issues I am currently having are with some of the VST3 Arturia plugs.

I will take a quick look on the web to see if I can find any clue.

Is there any more detail you can provide?

I am still digging around - there is not much out there as this looks like the 1.1 version was just released on June 6.

I did find the following in the manual: "IMPORTANT NOTE: Only use one Master grouping for each project. Using more than one instance to manage grouping may cause conflicts. Therefore, it is important to always use the instance inserted on the Master track as your grouping manager."

I don't know if the above applies or not, as I do not know in what manner you are using the plugins.

Have you tried launching Sonar with the explicit option 'Run As Administrator'?

I do not know if that matters to these plugins, but some plugins seem to run better with Sonar launched with Run As Administrator.

Just a thought - I am still looking at stuff on the web - so far a couple of crashes on unloading the plugins in Cubase, but nothing definitive as of yet as to what may be occurring.

I will be back at it in a couple of hours - have a bible study to attend.

I did find the following - which might be something you want to look into - not because of it's relevance to your crashes, but just something someone reported about upper frequencies:

"As much as I love Sonimus plugins, it seems that both Britson and Satson have aliasing on frequencies higher than 10-11kHz.  Satson has aliasing at about -70 dB.  What does that mean? It means that I wouldn't use them on the master bus or on tracks with instruments that have energy in that high frequency range."

Please note that I have no corroboration on the above - just thought I would pass it on, since I was looking into the stability of the plugins per your crash situation. :)

    Robert,

Thanks for the advice. I will look into the buss plugin thing a little later.

I have tried the one Buss plugin route with no success. I have gotten a reply from Sonimus support. They are researching the issue.

(i had asked this earlier - don't know if you have given it a shot) - Have you tried running Sonar with the EXPLICIT option of 'Run As Administrator'?  I don't know that it will make a difference for these, but it does seem to for some things - if memory serves.

lawp--- I have reported it to Cakewalk and Sonimus. Hopefully they are working on this issue.

robert--- I run X3 in Administrator mode.
