you probably already own these, but if you don't, start scouring used book stores for:

Lou Burroughs (Electrovoice) "Microphones: Design and Application"

Harry F. Olson (RCA) "Acoustical Engineering" (aka the blue book) and "Music, Physics, and Engineering"
    - the blue book is only available used I'm afraid, but well worth looking for - just don't pay $600 for it!
    - "Music, Physics, and Engineering" is not the scaled down distillation I was expecting, worth a read on it's on!

John Eargle's "Microphone Handbook" was recently updated by Ray Rayburn (an authority in his own right!), look for:
"Eargle's The Microphone Book: From Mono to Stereo to Surround - A Guide to Microphone Design and Application"

Although I'd also recommend the original version, titled simply "Microphone Handbook"

    Just in case...

    Thanks Bill,
I have a book by John Borwick, and had some text books that I borrowed and gave back but I don't have any of the books you listed.

     I need to get reading!

Hi Bill, I was tempted to complain about the pricing on some of the books...

I just found out what the book I have costs on Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.com/Microphones-Technology-Technique-John-Borwick/dp/0240512790/ref=sr_1_38?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1403229864&sr=1-38&keywords=microphone

    Yikes!

Pro Audio is a small, an shrinking community... the cost of the books is sadly rising as a result.

    Great stuff guys. I loved the host's Flux-Capacitor T-shirt.
