Rap Vocal is too Airy

Hi guys so yes I am back finally and in the right thread!! Well I am currently working on a cover of BTS Just One Day and here's a link to it

Well I am currently stuck on the first rap vocal I am currently trying to make it fit into the mix and it sounds ok...just ok you might be asking? Well yea...only problem is it is too airy sounding to me when Suga(the cute korean boy who raps the first verse in the original song) does it he doesn't sound as airy as mine does. I have put up a sample of the track with the instrumental and without...I have tried to cut out at certain frequencies but no avail.

MAYBE try running a distortion vst on it...

dial it in low to begin with, then crank it up...
that will add some grit, fill in some midrange, roll off some of the highs that are making it airy, and make it sound more aggressive.

what kind of distortion, or how much, is for you to figure out.
there will be a 'sweet spot' where it just happens.

if you have a tube amplifier vst, maybe try that.

i like the Voxengo tube amp

Omg thank you much!! I use SONAR X2 and I really didn't know how to use the ProChannel but it has a tube amplifier and saturation knob to give vocals and instruments more warmth and it's not airy like it was before thank you so much!!! Your suggestion was perfect
