Merging plugin layouts? And/or showing plugins that aren't on the list?

I just upgraded from 8.5 Producer to X3 Producer and as a result I've ended up with a bunch of new plugins; the Nomad Factory suite, Breverb, Rapture, maybe others. All good!

The problem is that I spent a lot of time on 8.5 arranging all the existing Cakewalk plugins, plus about 50 or 60 3rd party plugins, into some categorised plugin menu layouts so that I could find them all easily. I can (presumably) just copy those layouts into my new installation - but they won't include my new plugins. And since there have been a lot of additions, it will probably take me a long time to find all the extras and categorise them. I have over 230 VST effects alone and I am not relishing selecting each one in the plugin manager and trying to work out whether it needs adding again and to where.

The new bundled effects appear to be already categorised; so is there a simple way I can merge that layout with an old one?

And lastly, is there a way I can easily see which plugins are not included (which is not the same as 'excluded' I believe!) for a given plugin menu configuration?

Nobody? Ok, let me broaden this out a bit:

How do you guys manage your custom plugin menus when you upgrade Sonar? You get a bunch of new VSTs each time, so are you just adding them in manually?

Does anybody other than me actually use custom plugin menus? Maybe not!

Ok, so I wrote a little web page to do this merging for me. It took about 20x as long as merging the files by hand would have done, and about 10x as long as merging in each new plugin individually, but hey, maybe it'll save someone else some time in future...

I selected my old AudioFX layout, then selected the new X3 Producer Effects layout, and it produces a new file with the two joined together.

The page works in Chrome and Firefox, and the output file works in (at least) 8.5 Producer and X3 Producer.
In future I'd like to make something which can scan all the plugins on your system and ensure you're not missing any from your layout, but I can't do that from a web page. Oh well. :)
