     Hey Larry,

I just picked up Neil Peart Drum Kit Vol. #1 & Bob Seibenberg Drum Kit [Supertramp] for BFD 2 both for $93.10.

Should have been $98 @ $49 each, but I guess I got a discount for being a member there already.

I've always liked Supertramps drummer because he knew to put in what always sounded just right without putting in too much - simple, yet perfectly effective. I respect him for that.

And of course I drum along to Rush for warm up & practice [& just for the sheer pure fun of it] on my V-Drum kit.

Also thanks to you, I got BFD 2 for a steal just a few months ago off KVR marketplace which included the Greatest Hits Vol. #1 with it.

One again, you the Man Larry!!

    That's AWESOME JR!!!

Neil is definitely THE drummer IMO..but I'm biased....because Rush is my Favorite Band,
Geddy my favorite Bass Player, and Alex my role model as a guitarist (and David Gilmour)
I'll take substance over flash any day....LOL

One of my favorite songs our band plays is "Working Man"...
I love to play the older songs as well - Anthem, Fly By Night, La Villa Strangiato and Bastille Day (band
doesn't play those) but I love playing any Rush song...LOL

    My favorite band too Larry.

My favorite song to drum along with is Spirit Of Radio - challenging, yet rewarding.

    A point of interest:

I went to the same high school as 2 of the 3 Rush members, who were a bit older than me, and had graduated by then.
I was in a band with the younger brother of someone who started bass playing with Geddy Lee [Gary Weinrib] before Rush.

[Guy claims he actually taught Geddy to play the bass, but who knows for sure.]

In grade 11, I was actually in music class with Geddy's younger brother Alan.

When we were out back of the high school for a puff or two in the 'smoke zone', I was surprised to find out that we got better tickets for the upcoming Rush concert than Alan did.  ?????

Not sure if that tour was Farewell To Kings, Hemipheres or Spirit Of Radio, but to me, those were Rushes' hay-days - their 3 very best albums, IMO.

I have a Rickenbacker 4003 Fireglow Bass that I bought brand new in 1996, and I really like playing along note for note from one song to the next on Farewell To Kings and Hemispheres, with a few additional tunes from Spirit Of Radio and Moving Pictures as well - particularly Xanadu!!  Amazing recording!

Nice and Nice...I love Rick basses...

That's awesome....I saw them every time they were  here in Detroit growing up.
When I was in Fort Wayne they came to Indy...but it as $100 a ticket, and would have
been a 2 hr drive, and I was only making $8 an hr!  That would have been a weeks pay!
Not that it wouldn't have been worth it, but I just couldn't afford it LOL!!!

How kewl is that to go to the same High School!  Did you know where the Coffin was
(where they played their very first Gig with Rutsey)?

Nope. I know nothing about that.

Other than a puff or two out back, Alan & I actually hung around different crowds, so I didn't know him well enough to talk with him much, and I figured that he got bombarded with questions about Geddy [Gary], so I kept myself from asking him anything at all about Rush.

But my memories take me back to a tell-tale sign of their brotherhood in how they looked so very similar, right down to the white 'moon boots' that Geddy was famous for wearing for so long.

They consistently had the same hair style, the same pale blue jeans & moon boots, the same thin long lanky body type and hence looked almost identical.

Last I heard or saw of Alan was in the credits on one of their documentaries where he is now part of the concert tour production staff, and most likely has been for who knows how long.
