That's AWESOME JR!!!
Neil is definitely THE drummer IMO..but I'm biased....because Rush is my Favorite Band,
Geddy my favorite Bass Player, and Alex my role model as a guitarist (and David Gilmour)
I'll take substance over flash any day....LOL
One of my favorite songs our band plays is "Working Man"...
I love to play the older songs as well - Anthem, Fly By Night, La Villa Strangiato and Bastille Day (band
doesn't play those) but I love playing any Rush song...LOL
My favorite band too Larry.
My favorite song to drum along with is Spirit Of Radio - challenging, yet rewarding.
A point of interest:
I went to the same high school as 2 of the 3 Rush members, who were a bit older than me, and had graduated by then.
I was in a band with the younger brother of someone who started bass playing with Geddy Lee [Gary Weinrib] before Rush.
[Guy claims he actually taught Geddy to play the bass, but who knows for sure.]
In grade 11, I was actually in music class with Geddy's younger brother Alan.
When we were out back of the high school for a puff or two in the 'smoke zone', I was surprised to find out that we got better tickets for the upcoming Rush concert than Alan did. ?????
Not sure if that tour was Farewell To Kings, Hemipheres or Spirit Of Radio, but to me, those were Rushes' hay-days - their 3 very best albums, IMO.
I have a Rickenbacker 4003 Fireglow Bass that I bought brand new in 1996, and I really like playing along note for note from one song to the next on Farewell To Kings and Hemispheres, with a few additional tunes from Spirit Of Radio and Moving Pictures as well - particularly Xanadu!!
Amazing recording!
