problem, z3ta+ synth vst showing up as audio effect plugin in sonar x3 studio

I recently downloaded sonar x3 studio as an upgrade only to find that the synth plugin z3ta+ only shows up as a unuseable audio effect plugin in the sonar browser. I've scanned for vst's but z3ta+ won't show up as synth plugin only a useable audio effect plugin. Has anybody else experienced the same problem and do you have any solution to getting z3ta+ to work as a synth as intended. Also I've checked the z3ta+ program file and the manual and synth properties are all there weird why its not working. Iam running sonar x3 studio in windows 7, 3.57ghz, 4gb ram. Any help or use tips to getting it to work would be great thanks!
