Don't Be Cruel... Blues Style
I just quickly recorded
Don't Be Cruel as best I could in the style popularized by Elvis.
Although the song sold something like 6 M copies in record time I never have really appreciated it. Maybe it's becasue it doesn't evoke emotion ... at least not my emotions. So I thought that I would try to do a Blue'zy version of it and see if that is more to my liking. Being fairly new to the DAW world (I will someday need to quit using that as an excuse since I bout Sonar X3 in Feb 2014) and not being an instrumentalist, I am having a tough time creating a backing track. I'd like to do something in an Aretha Franklin Blues/Gospel sounding style ... or maybe in a 12/8 rhythm. I am open to anything that sounds blues-like and slowed down!
I've tried to modify MIDIs that might come close to what I am looking for!
I've tried singing/humming the parts, converting them to MIDIs and attaching them to instrument tracks. I've even tried modifying MIDIs using and old version of BiaB.
Bottom line is, I have failed. I have searched the net till the "cows come home" trying to find a suitable audio backing track and come up with nothing useful. Do any of you have, or could create or do you know where I can download a backing track. The closest thing I came upon is near the tick mark 14:37 of the following link
and it's not really what I'm looking for.
Any help is welcome.
