sending MIDI with audio

question, i'm using toontrack superior drums and one dimpro synth track with a bunch of audio tracks, what I need to know is do I need to do anything to the MIDI tracks in order to send a project via gobbler to someone who will download the tracks and work on them.
does this make any sense?

    MIDI data is like a musical score, so the information will all be there, but the others person's machine may interpret the "closest instrument match" to play the audio (i.e. their instrument sounds may/will sound different). If the intent is to have them modify the MIDI data, then it is simplest to send only that. The "audio" that they hear will be good enough (in most cases) to work with.
     
    As example, here is a straight up MIDI file I last touched in 1999... clicking on it in your browser will play your browser's "best interpretation," but you get the idea (the SONAR version is VSTi loaded).

    thanks so much however I don't think I made myself clear enough (which is usually the case). what I want to do is send a song via gobbler to someone running pro-tools. what I want him to do is download each track so he can work on it. i'm only concerned with the audio tracks, I don't need him to change any MIDI I have which is the drums. but I do need him to hear the drums.
    I notice with X-2 their is another option when exporting that according to what I've read is really designed to send to someone running MAC.
    I can't seem to find a step by step tutorial on sending raw data then be able to have someone send it back. am I making any sense at all?

    I have not used Gobbler much so hopefully someone will chime in if this can be uploaded directly. If you freeze or bounce those tracks they can be rendered as audio. I export as tracks which will create multiple audio files based on track name. Have you tried freezing the MIDI tracks and uploading?

    no, I have not tried "freezing" tracks, I need to go to the book and find out how it's done.

    Not a problem. Sorry about the MIDI confusion, I read that totally backward from what you wanted. Here is the documentation link for freezing (http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR%20X3&language=3&help=Mixing.23.html). Alternatively, you can bounce those tracks to audio tracks and then mute the originals. This allows you to have them as "audio" but be able to go back and modify the MIDI they were created from at a later date. I personally will bounce more often than not for rendering MIDI to audio.
     
    I hope someone chimes in that uses Gobbler, as I am not sure the "most efficient" way for you from that regard.

    If your collaborator is working on a Mac ask him if he wants wav or aiff for his application.
