The Virtual Bass Amp pro is all I ever use for bass guitar and I own Ampeg SVX. Recommended!

Looks like they pulled the plug on the sale if it was not a mistake to begin with. Studio Devil Pro would have been worth $45 but the link only went to the $89 price even with the $45 claim. Now they took off the $45 sale tag.

Nice plug. Lots of clear hi's and the effects are good with some stereo ambiance. Problem for me is the clash on the hi end, something artificial. Lots of cabs and different sims but all sounded like various eq changes of a single theme that I couldn't clean up. Scuffham with some hi eq love delivered about the same thing but cleaner.

Back to $89 which is the standard generic discount. Anyone wanting the plug can get an extra 20% off from AudioDeluxe taking it down to a bit less than $71.

Will pass this one but if they ever get a $45 price, will likely add it to the dust collection.

    Update...

Talked to MF rep Gabriel, ext 2048. Good guy and quick help..

Price is back up to 89, but was able to get the tag back down to $50 as an exception, which I went for.

Said to call if any of us want to go this route. $50 a tipping point for me, but worth it.

Well, it's as much convenience and ease of use as much as anything else. The interface is small and neat compared to Amplitube's multitude (multitube?) of pages and the init patch that VBApro opens with is just the way I want bass guitar to sound (have to tame it a bit in the mix though, and the built-in graphic EQ is perfect for that).

I have the first StudioDevil guitar plug (the one with just one amp model) and I have never found a use for it, but teh VBApro is a goto!

    Sven,

Sacrificed a couple day's groceries on SD Pro. Forced me to play with it rather than incur the wrath of Buddha for brainless waste on my credit card..

Was at first a turn off, but digging deeper, this is a monster.

Initially drawn by some of the phase, tremolo etc plugs that did a good spatial job, however the one trick overdrive staging is getting to me. Using mostly a mexi strat on the neck pickup (neodymium mod). The harmonics in the mix are incredible. Using the free Eventide plug upstream.

Will not replace everything else, but a unique niche that I can't get with anything else after kicking the tires around the block more closely.

Got a new love for the next few days til the next latest and greatest....

    John
