RIP, Johnny Winter

This is such a surprise, I don't even know what to say.  RIP, Johnny.

I saw the man play back around 1971 or 72.... great show. He had Rick Derringer with him on that tour on guitar with his band. Tix were about $3 IIRC and the other bands were a new group called Foghat and country rockers Poco.

Certainly worth the cost of the tix to get in. I have some of his stuff on vinyl. I might need to pull it out and spin it.... maybe even digitize it.

I saw him a few years ago at the Doheny Blues Festival.  He still sounded great.
