Do You Think - Collaboration with Guitarhacker

I was struggling through this song and Herb (Guitarhacker) helped me out. He added electric and acoustic guitars, bass, drums and B3 organ. He also edited the vox with melodyne and helped me to fix some other issues.
Comments and critiques welcome...

Works here, as I have nothing to compare it to prior to the the Herb fairy dust sprinkling I can not make that comparison.  But is does sound well here.

It sounds better. Herb knows what he's doing. But he uses things "in a box..." This actually sounds "much" mow betta. This is how I was hearing the song in my head.

Nice work on this.  IIRC this mix is Sean's not mine.  I simply supplied advice and provided a bit of a gentle nudge here and there.  Just kinda polished off the rough edges here and there to let this song shine in it's best light.

It was fun working on this and going back and forth discussing details and trying things to see what worked and what didn't.  I tried as best I could to let Sean do the heavy lifting on this and it sounds  like he pulled it off in good fashion.

Good job guys.  It is honest.  It has some things that could be better but overall it is a nice rendition of your song.  I like chorus 2 with the harmonies.  Mix is good.

Wookie - Thanks for listening. I think that Herb made it sound bigger. Particularly with the drums. He also thickened it up with electric guitars and the B3. His comment on here is correct, it was the mix I already had. He added tracks and he helped me nail some problem parts. He also didn't settle for some things that I was letting slide.

The Band19 - This is closer to what I originally was thinking. I tried to make it more subdued, but I think this works better. Herb's a good player and his programmed tracks are well done. All of his tracks sounded great. There is no EQ or any effects added to those tracks.

Gusrogers - Thanks for the listen. Honestly, I was about to give up on it. I had done a few different recordings and it just wasn't coming out the way I wanted. I was glad to receive the help and gratified with the result.

Herb - Thanks for the help

Rimshot - I appreciate your listening and your comments.

With every mix that you put up on here you improved upon the previous one. So you've done really well.

Good song Sean.  I remember the earlier version and this one is greatly improved.  Nice harmonies.  Like how the full band kicks in later.

The initial start to this song is really harsh with the over use of effects on the guitar. Once it backs off a bit, it's no so hideous and the song sounds a whole lot better. The vocals weren't bad. I lost interest in the tune rather quickly though because it doesn't go anywhere.

Gusrogers - Thanks for the encouraging words. I do think that the song improved with each version. A lot of people here on the forum were a big help in that regard. I learned a lot in the process. Most importantly, I learned a lot of what not to do. I think that Herb brought experience that I didn't have and made it even better.

Mike - Thanks for the comments. I went from a rocked out version (someone compared it to Guns n Roses) to a much more subtle acoustic version. I just couldn't get certain things to sound right (i.e. the acoustic guitar and the drums). I told Herb I wanted it to sound like a rock song and this is the result. He used Band in a Box for the drum parts. Now I'm seriously considering investing in that in the future, since I'm not a drummer.

bayoubill - Thanks for taking the time to listen and give feedback.

pistolpete -The sound of the guitars in the beginning is my fault. It's part of the "old" mix. IIRC the only effects on the guitar are EQ. It really did sound harsh, and I think I EQ'd it to death trying to fix it. A victim of the law of diminishing returns. It started, I think, with a faulty recording technique. I turned the treble up on the mixer, trying to make the guitar sound brighter. Then I tried to remove the brightness with the EQ. As for the tune not going anywhere, well, I take responsibility for that as well. I'm sure that a lot of people agree, since it hasn't received many plays on soundcloud...I think half of the listens were mine, and I'm getting bored of it too =).
