First new song for...years!

Hi all
For various reasons mainly revolving upheaval in my personal life I have not written or recorded a new song for a long time. It's amazing how slow and difficult the process was after such a break! I'm glad to say I am now back in front of Sonar and have thoroughly enjoyed recording this one. I know it's not loud enough, but when I tried compressing it squashed all the dynamics - I will have to read up on that again! Would be interested in any comments.

Hey Bill.  Nice tune.  Glad to see you back on the boards.
Good arrangement.  For the overall level, put a limiter on the master output and set it at like 0.95 db.  Get all your busses feeding it and don't let the limiter reduce more than about 4 db.  This should get your overall output level close to .95 db without too much squash.  It's worth a try anyway.

I always love creativity and original songs over super technique so I really like what you did here.  The backgrounds work well too.

Hi Rimshot, thanks for your suggestions and kind words. I will certainly try that over the weekend and I look forward to listening to yours and other members songs over the weeks ahead. Good to be back! Bill
