Gain staging from Octa-Capture to Monitor Station to speakers?

I have a question about whether or not I have my studio set up correctly when it comes to gain staging. 
 
Right now, I have my Octa-Capture set with the main output knob at it's maximum value and I control my volume with the main knob on my Monitor Station.  The LED's on the Monitor Station seem to visually match up to what I see on the Octa-Capture panel but with this step up, the input level on my speaker is set very low.  Is that the correct way to gain stage or should I be reducing the volume on the Octa-Capture and raising the input levels on my speakers?  Thanks for any help.
