Hot Sauce...too ****y for you? eh?

Hi peeps,

seeing that there are a lot of people on here from the US of 'A' I thought I would ask about hot sauce.

I love to s p i c e (blocked word? ) things up with a bit of tabasco sauce...  http://www.tabasco.com/

Is there a definitive hot sauce that you guys mean when you talk about hot sauce?

Can you recommend some sauces for me?

The first thing that comes to my mind is Dave's Insanity Sauce.  It was one of the first that pushed the limits of the Scoville scale for heat.  Others may have surpassed it.  It was so strong that I would only use a drop at a time, but I'm not that much of a hot head.  You would need to wash your hands well after using it so you don't get it in your eyes or other sensitive areas.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot--hey, who the hell are you guys?

Don't forget--what goes in must come out.  It usually burns at both ends.

I'm fond of Frank's Red Hot. It's not really terribly hot, but that's OK, I like to taste the chilis.

Tabasco, meh. It tastes like cayenne-flavored vinegar.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I'll add a second to what Bit said.
I absolutely love the flavor of Frank's Sauce.
Most sauces of this "type' are just s pi c e y vinegar.
Depending on the type of store that you may go to, I have found Frank's with different levels of heat.
It is good stuff.

Although I seem to be able to handle hot, I tend to avoid it for two reasons: #1, I usually like to taste what I'm eating and #2.

Another "vote" for Dave's Insanity Sauce, and they now make even hotter versions.  With Dave's used wisely, you actually still can taste the food.  But, it can also give you an all out "burn".

The main ingredient of Tabasco sauce is unsurprisingly vinegar...I'll see if I can find Frank's sauce here in the UK. Dave's sauce...sounds like a challenge to me!

Well here's Frank's anyway... http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=264147746

Hi,

WHAT?

NO BEACAN HOT SAUCE?

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!
