Remixed With a little help from my friend.

Hear is something I did with my friend Chris he wrote the lyrics the rest is down to me.

This link is to the song on his reverbnation page Con Passion

No offensive lyrics but there is definitely some double entendre in his words.

The Remix version is here Con Passion Remix top tune in the list.

Thanks for listen Ed, I suppose I have mixed them a little into the background.  Is it the whole kit you find reduced or specific bits.  I would be interested in your thoughts.

Thanks Ed I will revisit the whole mix again.  I know it sounds like an excuse but I will admit I did rush this so I will sort my ears out and give it another going over.  Thank you I do value your input.

Clever lyrics.  I like this song but gently suggest that you relook at some of the parts ( the rhythm guitar seems a little out of sync at some points) and the vocals and guitar could be brought forward in the mix - likely by just taking off some of the reverb.  I also agree with Bapu that drum level is low.  I also think the mix could be widened a little.

Picky stuff though, because the main thing is that you've written a cool tune!

Thanks Eric glad you think it is a cool song my friend whom sings and writes the lyrics will be happy.

Given some time and a fresh set of furry ears I will give the mix another look.

Catchy tune.  I was a bit lax on listening to the lyrics.  Caught some that were cool.  My first listen on all songs seems to go to instruments.  I'll give another listen here soon.  Different from what I was expecting from the furry one!  I liked it and I liked it the more I heard.

On the mix? The drums need to pop a bit more, the snare and ride. The vocals seem a little lifeless? I think it's mostly EQ, and I would boost them a bit and give them a bit more presence (and a highpass if they don't have one) Not sure if other things are fighting with the vox in the middle, but some scoops from the bass, and pans with the guitars and other instruments may help (didn't DL/listen to the mid and sides) But hey? EVERYBODY'S a producer!! So these observations and recommendations may or may not be accurate. I like my new cans though :-) Also, not sure how you made him moist? i.e., verb + delay? If you're using verb, you should kill the low end from it and spread it (works for me) and if there's a delay, try to time it/beat sync and either use features and or envelopes to make it pronounced where it should be, and removed from where it should not be. And it can be fun to send an output from the delay back in to the vox verb. And use an auto-panner on the verb? And a ping pong on the delay? It helps make it all "move..." YMMV and less is more, until it's not? Then more is better.

Right from the beginning, it sounds much better to me. This is a noticeable improvement. Tell Chris good job. When he says "You're a ..." could I get him to record a version just for me where he actually calls her out by name? (the ex.) Just kidding.

Nice tunage. I agree that the drums are buried but the crashes are fine. I'm horrible at understanding lyrics so I have no idea what you said. Don't worry though, my wife whacks me all the time because she has to repeat herself. Is that all husbands though? ;-)
