Loddie De Die

I've been busy writing lately and I don't usually post two. This is a song about the human condition and seeking satisfaction. In 6/8 time and with an Irish flavor...I even tried to sound a little Irish lol.

Loddie De Die
Many have fought very hard for a cause, they believed in a truth and it cost them their lives, many have sailed on the ocean to find a land full of bliss where life is sublime.
EE Oh Loddie De Die, we try and we try and we try till we die, EE Oh Loddie De Die, but men are just men and we try till we die.
Men cast all their cares into buckets with holes and tell themselves stories to comfort their souls and seemingly two agreed makes it a truth and truth is abandoned and lost in their youth.
EE Oh Loddie De Die, the eyes of our maker they often do cry, EE Oh Loddie De Die but men are just men and we try till we die.
Heads far above ours came with a plan, a replacement to change the material man but whiskey and story to comfort the heart and the end will be had and not far from the start.
EE Oh Loddie De Die, we try and we try and we try till we die,EE Oh Loddie De Die, but men are just men and we try till we die.

That's nice Tim. I guess the trip to Ireland was good for inspiration eh? I like the misty mood of the production.

Terrific song Tim.  The melody is memorable and the lyrics are great.  The mix and your vocals really complete this song.

    PJH- Thank You!
James- Yes the trip to Ireland was definitely an influence..Thanks.
    Gus- Thanks for listening!
Bapu- Thanks for listening. Did the bass seem ok? :)
    Wookie- I appreciate you comments.
Ruben, bayoubill,Rimshot, chasmcg and freddy.......thanks a lot for listening and commenting. I love the group we have here that help when they can!

I caught some minor timing errors at the very beginning on the guitar( or is it just me?)...not quite sure if I can fix it by using audio stretch. I doubt I can get exactly the same guitar sound again and it might be tricky trying to do it, but I might try.

Tim, this is one of my favorite songs from you!  Your versatility is showing.  I have discovered that I like Celtic music, only recently, and this song satisfies on all counts.  I would call this song finished, and definitely a winner.

    All the best,

This reminds me so much of Gordon Lightfoot's, "The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". It's different enough though. Maybe Lightfoot is Irish?

    This really sounds great!

I'm with Lynn on this one - it sounds finished to me too!  Everything from the composition to the arrangement to the mix just seems to work and captures the feel.   And your voice on this one is about as good as I've heard.
