EDITING MIDI FILE IN SONAR X3

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here but I'm having trouble editing a midi sequence.  Here are the problems I'm having
1.  I have a sequence with a 4 measure lead in with no data in the individual tracks.  I want to delete that 4 measure lead in.  I would select all the tracks and mark the area for deletion however when I go to 'edit' the delete or delete special is whited out and cannot be selected.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

There must be data in the measures in order to delete them. Either dummy up data for the measures or drag the existing MIDI data to the left.

FWIW, this forum is for older pre-X series versions of SONAR. For X series SONAR please post in the forum above this one.
