D16 Sale

30% off everything, use SUMMER2014 discount code.

My favorite D16 product is Redopter, a distortion plugin. I use it pretty regularly for parallel distortion on drums. I've also used it on bass and vocals. Try it in parallel on bass with the distorted version panned slightly off-center. A little tweaking and you can get a raunchy, crisp sound reminiscent of the Rickenbacker dual-pickup effect. On vocals you can get anything from a little bite to Twenty-first Century Schizoid Man.

That one's 27 euros ($36) on sale.

Two others that I pull out now and again when I'm looking for something different are Syntorus (deep chorus) and Toraverb (a unique reverb, try it on percussion).

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Also, at these sale prices both LuSH-101 and Sigmund are very good values.  LuSH is one of my favorite synths - I only wish some top-flight sound designers would get on board.  Sigmund is an enormously competent delay - it does some things that Timeless 2 cannot due because there are four delay channels.  It also comes with a ton of very creative presets.

I have Sigmund - it's a fabulous (opps no pun meant) delay.
Syntorus is my go to chorus.
Great products, and a good company I have found to deal with
Never went for Lush although I have heard others say it is very good

Toraverb, Syntorus and Fazortran are my favourites. While they may not be you typical reverb, chorus and phaser they open up posibilities that do not exist on most bread and butter plugins.

I got all the tiny gui plugins when they were supercheap- maybe $20 for the lot. Apart from decimator (i think it's called) I use them all.

Based on those I bought Lush. I'm not really a synth person so I thought I'd get one and learn it really well. It is an amazing instrument I think. Just minor tweaks can give new very usable sounds. Powerful computer recommended though.

I am actually thinking about buying the d16 drum machines pack this sale.

That was indeed one of the best group buys ever. All the effects for fifty bucks, IIRC. That's how I ended up with them, too.

At the time,  I had assumed it was a clearance sale in preparation for the release of new versions - versions with labels and knobs you can see! My eyesight is poor, so I have to use a virtual magnifier with the D16 stuff and ST2. Unfortunately, no new effects have been forthcoming in the three years since that sale, and those itty-bitty knobs have only become more difficult to operate. But I still use them!

I would not, however, recommend them for someone with worse visual impairment than me. I know there are some regulars here who are legally blind.

BTW, here's a short sample I made back in 2011 to demonstrate Redopter, which is used on both guitar and drums in this snippit.

Will have to look into it.
    1. Really like Toraverb.
    2. Love any King Crimson ref.
