Anyone else digging Nectar 2?
Can't remember what deal turned into a purchase of this product. It was an offer, in an offer, and I wasn't even looking at it prior to my impulse buy. I've been using a lot and think it's really brilliant at making everything sound a bit better. Lately I've been working on tracks that feature a vocal and acoustic guitar. The tracks sound good, but adding a Nectar preset just made them pop. I'm not qualified to say how good the individual components of a preset are. I have lots of plugs that may be of higher quality that I could use. In fact, Nectar kind of reminds me of the Pro Channel. All the plugs are there to mix and mash as required. For the first time, I'm eager to make some Pro Channel presets.

I received the LE version with Addictive Drummer IIRC. I didn't think I'd have a use for it but I actually dig that thing.

I use a four punch approach to vocals now.
1. Sonar X3 Producer - recording the vocal tracks, speed comping, getting good composite vocal tracks with the best takes in the phrasing. 2. Melodyne full version - improving the composite tracks. Making the dry track sound fantastic. 3. Nectar 2 - putting a blend of touches/FX onto the individual vocal tracks to make them pop with sparkle. 4. Putting Melda MAutoDynamicEQ or MSpectalDynamics in the Bus to subtly and dynamically carve out just the right frequencies at the right time along the mix for the vocals to separate just a touch from the instrument tracks. Owe that last point to BitFlipper. I'm just learning this, but I've seen it and heard it and I'm a convert.
Agreed, Nectar 2 is fun and has lots to offer to spruce up plain old vocal tracks.
Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Got the LE version as well, liking it and using it a lot. I find a preset that is close to what I am looking for and then start tweaking it. It has a nice sparkle.

Liked it at first, but went back to my standard vocal chain. It's cool though and I can see there is potential to really tweak and make it a go to plug. I have the LE version as well.

I have Nectar Elements which I primarily use to make quick rough vocal mixes for clients and we all seem to like it. I got it for somewhere around $29 I believe in the hopes of upgrading later. I haven't been using it that much for final mixes. I would like to upgrade to Nectar 2 Standard and I've been waiting for a deal which doesn't seem to come. At my account area in Izotope, I see the upgrade to Standard is $129 and the upgrade to the Production Suite is $199. I want the standard for the vocal harmony module (I have been using Celemony for this). I don't want the production suite because I have Celemony so it would be redundant. At the usual outlets (JRR, Audiodeluxe), I don't see an upgrade price to the standard, only the suite which makes me wonder if the standard version is being phased out. So all quotes exceed $129. Does this seem like a good price to get the harmony module functionality or does anyone foresee a big sale coming? It looks like Izotope is going to be pushing Rx this month so I don't see it happening with them. I would like it rather soon for some of my current projects. Thanks much!
