Calluses
I woke up this morning and noticed I'm getting the calluses back on my right hand and thumb. FINALLY! When I started back in 09' I had lost calluses on both hands. It hurt to play for about 4 months. I've noticed the tone of my finger picking getting better and I could play longer. This is another breakthrough for me. I'm excited about this. For me this is a big deal. Ok, I'll shut up now and get my guitar

it took you 5 years to get callouses back? I got em' back on my left hand pretty fast. I'm talking serious calluses. It took 40 years to get them where they were before I got sick. I completely lost them.

I'm peeved/confounded because I have been playing bass almost daily for the past couple months and figured once I picked up the six string again I'd be flyin'. Nope. Hands/forearms/tendons are bunching up and the strings feel like razor blades jamming into the ends of my fingers? WTF?!

"It hurt to play for about 4 months" Maybe you should have stopped playing after 3 months, and when did you sleep?

Yep. Right hand. The thing is it shows I've been putting in enough time everyday to get them. There's something about the tone when the calluses are on the finger tips of the right hand. Great for Chet stuff

I've got right hand callous', I keep my nails cut pretty short now too. If I could get rid of the arthritis I'd be in seventh heaven. Good on you Bill! Regards,

Thanks morgan! I started taking mobic for arthritis. The pain is in both thumb joints but I think it may be from playing so much also. When I first wake up I can't touch my pinky to my thumb with out joint pain. As the day goes on it gets better and I know the Mobic helps a lot

Can arthritis creep to the brain? If so, I think I have it.

I think you're thinking of dry rot. Yes, yes it does. That's why I make sure my brain is completely unused. That way, I won't notice the difference.
