Can Sonar 4 Producer Edition be upgraded to the latest Sonar X3 Producer Edition?

Can Sonar 4 Producer Edition be upgraded to the latest Sonar X3 Producer Edition?

Hey guys,
 
Was wondering if anyone would know the answers to my 2 questions...
 
1. I currently have Sonar 4 Producer Edition running on windows xp, is it possible to upgrade to Sonar X3 Producer Edition onto a different computer running on the latest windows 8.1?
2. Will Sonar X3 Producer be able to open my old Sonar 4 project files?
 
Would really appreciated if anyone have the answers to my questions! Thanks!

    Yes, it is possible to buy the SONAR upgrade and install it on a new machine. SONAR upgrades are full retail versions of the products at a special upgrade prices.
     
    Yes, the projects will open but there will probably be issues with some plug-ins. Keep the old DAW handy during the transition.
