Play long MIDI notes

Does anyone else miss the ability to play long MIDI notes from the middle?
I would like to hear all the notes when I start the playback in the middle of a song.
I know that some other DAW can do this.

A workaround is to freeze the MIDI track.....or just replace the synth with a banjo track.....

Yes, I'd find that helpful. I guess the way this would work is that upon hitting play, the DAW would scan back to the beginning of the file for note-ons that don't have note-offs, on the assumption the note-offs happen later in the file. Then it would trigger whatever note-ons it found as soon as the transport started playing. The notes would turn off once they encountered the note-off messages.

The only workaround is to freeze the track. I do this a lot if it's a sustained pad part.

Perhaps it should be an option you could toggle on or off, as there might be times when you would deliberately not want to hear the prior notes (I don't have such an occasion in my head, but someone might).

It's been in my wish list (but not in top 10).

Same here. Makes things much easier.
